This has happened to me two times and I found a thread on another forum where someone had the same problem after restoring their system using Data Backup.

If you do, you may find messaging doesnt work anymore. After trying to install some software that obviously wasn't compatible with WM5 I had to do a hard reset. I then used Data Backup to restore my most recent backup. After the restore and windows reloaded, it said I had two messages in my hotmail inbox. But when I click on it nothing happened. I clicked on start and then messaging and nothing happened.

No matter what I did I could not get Pocket Outlook to run and yes the exe is still in windows and the link is still in the start menu folder.

I eneded up having to hard reset and install everything all over. The worst part is Data Backup is all we have to make a backup till Sprite releases an update to their software.

Does anyone know of any other Data Backup program that works with Windows Mobile 5?

I installed the latest WM5 from Dell and after re-installing everything, I had to hard reset for some reason due to one of the latest program I installed to CF instead of memory. I then tried to restore from a "safe-point" and the backup/restore tool can not even see my backup set... I tried to copy it to the CF, the memory, and double-clicking it, and still it doesnt see this 13meg file...

Guess I have to start all over again :(

It worked for me. Did you try to hard reset before doing a data restore. The restore process is very slow, could be like 20 minutes.
