I'm using activesync 4.0 and windows xp sp2.
it's not like the computer is reset itself, it's like there is no power and I need to change the outlet for operating it again.

That is not a usual way for a PC to crash. Maybe your power supply is being overloaded. Two ideas here.. a defective USB port that might be drawing too much current and causes the system to collapse. Or if you have a lot of peripherals connected, then it is possible that when you plug your Axim in it that extra draw from the PSU gets the job done and over loads it.
What do you mean by having to change the outlet? As in you have to plug it in to another socket for it to power up again? If so.. then there is a whole list of other things that can be attributed to that. Can you clarify the outlet thing?

Yes, I needded to change the socket.
Anyway, do you think that I'll push my luck if i try to do it again, 'cause i've heard i could destroy also the ppc, when it shuts down during rom updating??!!!
if so, what other options do i have
