Does anyone have an x51 that actually works?
I've checked various forums and sites, and there appears to be real issues with WM 5 and Activesync 4... I appear to have spent good money on a PDA that is incapable of synching my Calendar, Tasks, Emails or Contacts. ...And I never had this problem with my old iPAQ. I've owned my x51 for three days, and I've spent most of them trying to get it to work. I've tried Activesync 4.1, and I've tried 'detect and repair' on Outlook. All fail to achieve what even the most basic PDA should be able to do! Any ideas?

My X51V works great... I did have some issues with an upgraded X50v I had before but I got those resolved as well... Are you getting an error code or something?? Have you tried removing all traces of Activesync (including ALL registry keys) and then reinstalling from scratch??? that has helped alot of people... I tried the detect and repair route but never had to reinstall Outlook as some suggested...

Regedit has an "export" feature that will allow you to export certain branches of the registry for safe keeping if you remove something critical. You may want to search for any pages on the net about advice with "editing the registry" for more tips. Regedit has a "search" feature that will allow you to look for the text "activesync" so you can remove the keys. Also don't forget to reboot the machine after the uninstall and removing the registry keys. Windows loads the registry into memory at start-up so rebooting after the edits is the best way to go... Thanks for your help everyone: I've tried all the following:
1. Soft/hard reset of my Axim 2. Reinstallation of Activesync 3. Dell's self-help system 4. Dell's customer services helpline- took an hour and no luck 5. Uninstallation of microsoft office 6. Reinstallation of office 7. Reinstallation of updates ...and still the 86000108 code. It's taken me now 4 days of my life that I'll never have again. I've had enough!

I have connection problems. usually i hang on the connect, and then I have to unplug and plug the axim back in. That will work. I'm pretty sure my issue is due to the new transfer (TCP) methods and my company's firewall. My IPaq 3950 never had this issue. However, pretty sure is not positive

My two cents:
Try disabling your firewall, windows/other. Or, take it to someone else's computer and see if it will work there to isolate the source of the problem. If not, let it burn in hell!

Try adding a contact on the x51. This helped a user with the same error code on pdaphonehome.com. When he did that and resynched, all of his contacts were added to the pda.
