I bought last Spring a X50V in the US from a retailer. To make things worse, first attempt of ownership transfer through the phone has been unsuccessful (I did not know about this issue at the time of purchase).
To make things even worse, I am Italian and reside in Italy.
I want to follow an English speaking upgrade path. Therefore, I do not want to get the Italian upgrade whenever it is ready.
Dell Italy is waiting for the Italian version and does not ship any other version. And maybe never will.
Dell US only ships to the US (strange, uh? :) )
Dell UK might be able to ship the UK upgrade to a friend of mine there (still everything to be checked, though, since I hope they do not ask the service tag. They would discover it is a US Dell and maybe not ship it anymore).
Anybody out there has successfully upgraded an US Axim with a UK upgrade or has any reliable info on this fact? Dell UK would not even answer to this question, nor send a US version if required without a UK service tag.
It seems that DVDs and phones are not the only things with area codes...

I am not holding my breath on this issue. I know of the problems of WM5 (I am following all the threads here) and maybe that it is worth waiting a little bit more for fixes, but I would like to get hold of an upgrade CD and be thereafter able to make the online updates as in WM2003 (which I have been doing so far). I can take everything at a leisure pace, but I would like to get things moving, even if slowly.
