I cant believe im saying this but Soft Keys are growing on me

Im really starting to like them. I have the left soft key mapped to my calendar button, the right one to my contacts button, the start menu linked to my messages button, rotate screen linked to my home button, and ok/close linked to my rec button. Now i can do most of the checking and browsing of stuff with out pulling out the stylus... really useful when on the go.

I mapped my Today soft keys using tweaks 2k2:

Left: 'Music' (opens MortPlayer)
Right: 'ActiveSync' (I do alot of bluetooth syncing and it's tough looking for AS each time.)
glenn: dell axim x51, 8GB seagate photo drive (aka: microdrive), generic 512MB SD card, jabra bt620s wireless headset and thanks to Chris: Sena black case! Favorite programs I use everyday: TodayAgenda, WM5 New Menu, Resco FE, Wisbar Advance 2 with Vista Lite theme, TCPMP.

The only place that the soft keys really bug me is in MSN Messenger. I liked the old way, where right on the toolbar I could go from the chat window to the list window. Now I have to do extra clicks through nested menues to do that.

I like how the buttons can have different functions in different programs. That is assuming the programmer picked the function I want or lets me change it

Hello,

personally, I do not like the soft keys. it just introduces more clicks where there were fewer before. I really notice it in Pocket IE - I prefered to have the row of buttons along the bottom. Now, oftentimes, I have no idea which menu to select to get the functionality that I want. I keep hoping that they will grow on me. All this has down is make my PDA look and feel like a Nokia phone - and I am not a Nokia fan to begin with.
