X50v and WM5, well okay, I guess.

So I haven't been to the boards in a long time to see the reactions to WM5 and just installed it after it came in the mail... Whoops! Always read up on stuff like this first.

Well, at first, I was furious. All I had installed was Pocket Plus 3.0 (originally said to be WM5 compatible) and MS Money 05. The thing would drain it's battery every night. If I left it on the cradle then the next morning it would not turn on without me starting a hard reset and then hitting cancel. It was SLOW. I was also getting the white-screen-of-death and the "Memory Error press the contacts button to fix" too.

Well, good news, Axim Site is here to save the day. After using the tweak guide and software compatibility list life is good again.

I am now absolutely positive that Today Plugins which monitor the battery/memory are the culprits for my problems. Both Pocket Plus and Resco 2005's today plug-ins (I tried them seperately) killed the stability and performance of the X50v. When disabled, soft reset and then the difference is like night and day. Although I will miss always knowing the battery status and having a close button that actually closes...

Try magic button for both of those features you are going to miss.
