Microsoft strikes again. I received my x51v about a month ago and promptly ran the installation disk. As part of the installation, Outlook 2002 was installed. I have MS Office 2000 and the Outlook 2000 was overwritten with 2002. Now the Christmas holidays are upon us and I figure, time to do the Christmas cards. I use the Outlook mail merge feature to print envelopes from my Outlook contacts. Well, this year, I open Outlook, click on contacts, click on Mail Merge and receive the following message. "To use this feature, you must install the version of Microsoft Word that matches the installed version of Microsoft Outlook." Does anyone have a way around this problem? (Other than buying MS Word 2002)

My suggestion is to go back to 2000, or update Word to 2002.

I tried loading Outlook 2000 and now my x51v won't sync, and buying Word 2002 is an option only as a last resort.

OK it's fixed, I uninstalled Outlook 2002, MS Office 2000, Active Sync 4.1, and then did a hard reset on the x51v. Reinstalled everything except Outlook 2002 and both sync and mail merge now work.

The moral here is if you have an older version of Office DON'T install the version on the Axim installation CD. :rolling:

I spent about 6 hours messing with different things before I finally decided to blow everything away and start from scratch. But, YES, evrything now works, thanks for the tip. :approve:
