What is gwes.exe?
Keep getting an error message saying gwes.exe is not responding? What does this executable do?

Google
Graphics, Windowing, and Events Subsystem (GWES.exe), GWES.exe loads a device driver if GWES is the only client of a driver.

I've been getting this error quite regularly since installing PocketBreeze a couple of hours ago. Yes I've soft-reset.

Search on the SBSH PocketBreeze forum for GWES.EXE and you'll find references to WM5 "features".

i had the same problem. it would repeatedly tell me that the file was not responding and i wasnt able to do anything. What i finally did was turn off error reporting and it seemed to start working better. I dont know if turning that off is good or bad but it did help.

try to turn off Wi-Fi everytime when you turn off Axim. I had same message few times and it had happened mostly with Axim in cradle and wi-fi on while soft reset was required. Btw....PocketBreeze works great on my x51v.

I was getting this error when trying to update Worldmate Pro's weather feature. Since uninstalling it 2 days ago I've not had the error message again.

I've been using Windows CE so many years...
Every Palm-size/PocketPC I've ever had has had the gwes.exe file and I accidentally deleted it once and the device wouldn't operate without performing a hard-reset. It's my understanding that it's the file that runs the initial system setup or keeps the entire WindowsCE OS operating...

I keep getting the same error. Also have been getting shell32.exe errors. PocketBreeze seems to be the culprit, although I can't be sure.
This link appears answer some questions...

My error reporting is still on, I only got that error two times so its not an inconveniance. I like having error reporting on, just so I know if there's anything to keep my eye on.

There might still be a problem... Windows just won't tell you about it now. :D
