I'm curious to find out if there are any applications or system tweaks that allow multiple programs to be launched in a sequence, sort of like a DOS '.bat' file or like Mac OS X's AppleScript.
For example, it would be cool to assign a hardware button to an applet that does: 1) check if bluetooth is active; if not, turn it on (i.e. launch "BTSwitch") 2) Set the screen brightness based on time. If it's between 7am and 7pm then set the screen to max brightness. If between 7pm and 7am then set it to min. brightness. 3) Launch GPS application I suppose it might be quite difficult to implement something like this, since much of those functions would be low-level OS calls, and the target application would also have to be "script-aware" to work with the OS. It would be cool if this were possible. Then again, it's a PDA, not a supercomputer. ![]() | |||||
