Axim just wont turn on
Hey everyone. I was trying to look through the forums for this but didnt quite find anything. I installed WM5 on my X50v, and sometimes it does the strangest thing. I have a 2200mah battery and it works well, i dont have the battery issues that other people are talking about. What i do have it when i take the axim out of my pocket for a quick note jot down or something, it wont turn on. I push every button and nothing. Just sits there. So i have to do a soft reset and it seems to fix everything. Any help on this?

Mine used to do this until I killed SBP Pocket Plus, do you have any today plug-ins running?

Well, I would say that you should at least disable the battery indicators and wait for an update.
I was so disgusted by the mess it made that I just uninstalled the whole thing and am waiting on an update from dell and SPB.

I also found that when it wouldn't turn on "out of the pocket", I would plug it into the cradle and everything would then work fine. Having memory cards (SD or CF) in or having any type of battery monitor will make this happen. I have tried various programs and they all cause the same problem for me. I think everyone is waiting for that update so that we can all use the Today plugins that we love.

i deleted my today plugin and so far it really hasnt solved the problem. i do have an SD card inserted all the time though. i was getting ready to leave for a trip and it wouldnt turn on. this was on thursday. it was driving me crazy. this time it really didnt want to turn on. i even tried to do a soft reset and it didnt work. i finally had to take the battery off and put it back on to get anything to work. this is increasingly frustrating me. i may be selling this thing on ebay when the treo 700w comes out

First time posting ...
I too am having this exact same problem. I have a X50v and upgraded to WM5.0. That's when this whole problem started. I can take my Axim off the cradle and the battery has a full charge. If I leave it turned off out of the cradle for more then half a day and try to turn it back on, nothing. I have to do a soft reset (which ususally works) or remove the battery and put it back in to get it to start up again. This is completely frustrating I haven't called Dell yet, but I am about to because I just can't stand this anymore. I would update the ROM, but the 2 posts I found for A04 and 05 both appear to be only for WM 2003 SE. If anyone has any other information on how to make this stop happening please, please post it.I see posts form others stating they told active sync to stop trying to run every 5 minutes. I have looked through the options for Active Sync (version 4.1) on my desktop software and on the Axim and I can find no way to do this. Can someone please post the steps to get Active Sync to stop trying to run all the time? Thank you.

With WM5 and X51, people have three or more choices to workaround this problem. 1. keep bt turned on 2. disable error reporting 3. set up fake server. Lots of discussion on X51 hardware trouble forum. One or more of the workarounds generally works for most people.
