Yeah a couple of thoughts:

• What have you tried specifically to get it to work?
• Have you tried searching these forums for similar problems?
• Have you tried the Novell site, with particular regard to their freeware PDA Connect utility?

I have tried many, many things to get GW to sync with my x51v and the only thing that worked 100% is PortaMail 2005 from quartzdevelopment.com. I have written a couple of other posts on this but there apparently isn't a lot of interest on this topic on aximsite.

Intellisync IMO no longer seems interested in the Groupwise market as I don't think their latest version is WM5 compatible nor, from what I've read on various forums, do they have much interest in making it so. I could not get their latest version to sync with Groupwise 6.5.2 at all.

The latest version of the Novell PDA Connect software is not WM5 compatible unfortunately but there are rumors on the Novell forums that a compatible version will be released sometime in the spring.

Personally, I couldn't wait for a 'maybe' to sync so I forked over the $60 for PortaMail and so far I'd say it has been a good investment. You can download a trial copy from their website to see if it will work with your setup.

You can sync groupwise w/ axim using a product called portamail 2005. you can download a 30 day trail at quartzdevelopment.com. I had groupwise 5.5 and now 7 and software works great..syncs mail, calender and even address books

Novell has released an FTF (Field Test File, aka Beta version) of GroupWise PDA Connect that works with WM5.

On the page above, look for "FTF: PDA Connect Update Multilingual." This version supports WM5, and works with GW 6.5 and 7 SP1.

I found out about this prerelease version by browsing the Novell support forums:

Near the bottom of this page, click on the HTTP link beside PDA Connect.

A work I'm using GW and ActiveSync 4.1 and x51V.To sync Axim and GW, Im using a vary nice little program called PortaMail which recently has been upgraded to allow sync. with devises using wm5. It works just fine!

I'm using Intellisync Handheld Edition 5.5.0 to synch my Groupwise Calendar with X51V/ WM5 - seems to be working OK.

My colleague across the hall had to get a "level 2" IT support guy to come and fix things up, but it works well with the combination of Groupwise 6.5, Intellisync 5.5 and Activesync 5.1 on his Axim X51V. I plan to do the same, but I will also have a look at the alternatives.

Novell has posted GroupWise synch software for older Axims, but it won't work with the x51! 3 companies have software for synching but only with GW 7.0 or 6.5.4 or later! Most synch software doesn't work. Really great having Novell and Microsoft working against you!
