Question Can't get back to the Today screen

There are times when I can not get back to the today screen without a soft reset. Here is what causes it.

If I click Start > Programs, then open a program and then close that program I am sometimes stuck in the program window. This is the window that shows all the icons of the installed programs.

Any ideas what is causing this?

Can you just X out of the programs window or Click Start -> Today?
If you get dead silence after breaking the speed of sound, would you be in the darkness after passing the speed of light?

Nope, niether of those will work. Also even using Magic Button to close all will not work. Nothing I do can get it from that screen.

A fix i think

I had the same problem. I have found that you can hit Start, Settings, Memory, Running Programs you might find a Settings program running. Stop that program and you will be able to get back to the Today screen.

I'll try that next time it happens. Probably later today.

It's the Magic Button pgm that causes this. Just click the HOME icon on MB and you go to the today screen.

Something better than Magic Button?

Is there something more stable than Magic Button for seeing/closing running programs in WM5?

To me it's just a minor inconvenience, Magic Button is a GREAT program.

It's definitely Magic Button - I had the same problem and just stopped using it.

Magic button does not work for me very well either. I installed prigramlauncher (nice program) and added the switcher bar to it. This works okay but will often leave running programs when I look in settings. I liked Vbar but had the problem of the overlapping text to close things out.

I would also like a better solution to this one.

Magic Bar

While Magic Bar does have a couple of bugs (exiting the setup screen in wifi and the <home> icon disappearing) it is the best I've found to date.

I've had the same problem, but all in all I still think magic button seems to be a good app.

I'm sticking with Magic Button... the minor inconvenience of clicking the Home Button is not that big of a deal... It's still a great program.
