Java Environement

Is there a way you can install a Java Runtime Environment onto an x51 wm5 so you can run browser based java games (exaple www.javanoid.com).

Also, for any snood players, can it be downloaded for ppc?

One way is to use this program called Virtual Java Jeode.
Link in MyPDA.

Yes, you can download Snood for ppc. However snood does not work well with the x50v. (I don't know about the x50 or the x51 though)

Thanks tancerman.

EDIT: Whoa! $50? I think I can live without it LoL, that price is pretty steap, I was thinking along the lines of $19.95 or less.

Or you can play directly using NETFRONT.

The applet loads and runs fine using Netfront on my X5 in VGA mode (Although quite slow).

I would guess the performance would be better on an X50/51

Yeah, and netfront w/java is like around $30 instead of $50. And you get a very good browser.

You may also want to check out http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/foru...ic.php?t=41081 for a much more up-to-date list. In addition, I also recommend my latest post on Java compliance at http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/ind...3&p=462&more=1

There's no Java support in the PPC version of Opera (if you meant the PPC version).

For PIE, you have two choices: Jeode and CrEme. Do a generic search in my blog for them; I've written a lot about these two PIE plug-ins.

Please read http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/foru...ic.php?t=41081 - it's the central repository of all standalone Java-related information. I also recommend a quick search in my blog.
