How can I turn OFF system beeps?

I want my alerts to be active (alarms, reminders, etc...) but I don't want ANY audible beeps when accessing menus or any programs. This was a straigthforward option on the Palm, how do I disable these beeps on the X51v?

Thanks in advance

Try going to Start - Settings - Personal tab - Sounds & Notifications and unchecking "Screen taps" and "Hardware buttons".

Oh, and by the way, how can I have a silent alarm on the X51v? It doesn't appear to have vibration alarms, and if I need a reminder to go off during a meeting I need something silent.

Ya, both of those boxes are already empty, and still as I navigate to them, all I hear is beep, beep. Very annoying.

Turn of all the notifications, dsmichaud - and last I looked, there is no silent alarm for the x51v, or any non-Smartphone or non-phone-enabled PocketPC. :D

I think you mean it goes 'beep beep' when you hit the start menu. To turn that off you will need to un-tick the 'Events' too.

I hate this btw, because there are some warnings/system events I would've liked to keep, but the bip bip bip of the start menu bugs the hell outta me.

To have silent alarms, well Im checking out 'alarmToday' from pocketmax. This program allows you to silence your system (and therefore give silent alarms) for a pre-set amount of time.

There are more such programs, including free ones, but I don't know them offhand. Search for it (and if you find em let me know :) )
