AvantGo now supports WM-5.0!

I appologize if this is a duplicate post but I just discovered that AvantGo now supports WM-5.0

The latest version is 6.0.3006, and is for Windows Mobile 5 devices.

I just finished installing it and downloading channels and it works fine so far!

This version may support WM5, but it still appears to not display cleanly on VGA screens. As with the previous versions of Avantgo, I had to force the display to high res to make it usable.

Thanks for the heads up. I have an X51v so I'm interested in the next update:

Important notes:

-- VGA screen resolutions are not yet supported. A beta will be released in Q1 2006 that includes support for VGA screens.

Hummm... I didn't have to make any adjustments at all and everything displays fine on my X51v.

I guess there's no sense in AvantGo doing things right the first time... Mickysoft NEVER does!

You guys might want to take a look at this: pRSSReader. I tried Avantgo but it gave me so many Time-out, etc...
This pRSS is very small and works really well with VGA

This latest version doesnt seem to be even as stable as the previous version.
I installed it but have removed the sync from activesync and do my syncing via wifi at home each day.

Works OK for me using the Tweaks2K2 ForceHiRes tweak, but it's never been able to sync thru Avantgo, even now; I have to manually launch it and sync it while it's cradled.

That's the same problem I had after upgrading to WM5. It was useless without autosync. I've now switched to a dedicated RSS reader.

That's why I am still using the one that uses IE for the browser.

I tried AvantGo on my JasJar, but the fonts were really screwed up. So I tried pRSSReader and it's excellent.

I'm no expert, but some feeds are better than others. Many are just a headline and you need to be on-line to retrieve the rest of the article. But others like Engadget and Slashdot have a paragraph or two to read so it is like AvantGo.

Does pRSSReader work properly with WM5?

After trying AvantGo for WM5, my device has been screwed up. Now I need to do a hard reset. Don't bother with AvantGo for WM5... it hangs during sync, the resolution is still crappy AND too large for the screen, and it messed with my PocketOutlook somehow. Total thumbsdown. Stay away!

How do you force the display to Hi-Res?
