I tried Opera 8.5, but the Chinese characters were still in squares. Are you sure you did not use 3rd party software? What is your settings?

While in my opinion it is slower, the increased java script support makes it invaluable. I've tried it with ajaxian pages and it works well which, again in my opinion, could be very useful for mobile content.

I love it. It renders pages soooooooooo quick compared to Netfront and PIE. I love it so much, i took some images of my x50v, together with my Opera t-shirt i won some months ago.
and

Hopefully they will have a WM2k3SE version out soon, so i can downgrade from WM5.

Nice work opera!

It works pretty well for me - the initial startup of Opera is slower than PIE by several magnitudes, but pages load a second or two faster than they do in PIE, and the text mostly remains readable... which is something I can't always say about PIE.

I think that the links and a discussion about the availability are on the first page of this thread.

It does work nicely even on my QVGA device. I can see the toolbar is designed solely for wzero3's VGA screen but no other problems otherwise. I just can't imagine there will be very many updates unless Opera finally SUPPORTS it for all WM5 devices.

Is this Opera only for WM5?

If I get WM5 fix for x50v from Dell, I'll give it a try.

Just tried it out on my x51v and am getting some odd problems with the fonts, S looks like f, strange punctuation and some greek characters thrown in. Do I need to load some special fonts or what?

Wow, it almost gives me an incentive to want to try WM 5.0 again. I use Opera on my PC's, and it's got to be my favorite browser of the options currently available! Unfortunately, after all the pain WM 5.0 caused me, I think I will continue to wait until Microsoft/Dell gets it fixed up. Here's to hoping Opera gets a release on WM 2003SE.

I cannot get into my hotmail with Opera 8.5 for ppc.. it automatically redirects me to mobile.msn.com and refuses to let me into the regular hotmail site.
Anyone know a way around this? Opera is the only broswer that exhibits this behaviour, netfront and even PIE let me read hotmail just fine.

The speed and other good feature are due to the fact that you are not accessing the web page directly. Everytime you request a web page that an “Opera Server” reformats web page. So we could call what you see in your PPC a "preprocessed" version of the original web site.
