Yeah what is the 'modified dll' and all. Is that an euphemism for 'crack'? :P - anyway opera for wm5 is very very nice, much better and faster than PIE so far. Plus I have.. *gasp* screen estate! I can seeeeee!
Highly reccommended :approve:
Addendum: ooh it even does https (SSL)!

The problem is that the Opera WM5 version available for download at the moment was software-locked to work on the WM Zero 3 only; in other words, it ran a check to see if your machine was the one it was designed for, and would not run if it didn't say 'WM-Zero 3' somewhere in the registry, IIRC. What the modifications to the Opera DLL do (which were originally posted on XDA forums) is disable that check, so it will run on any WM5 machine.
If you consider that a crack, then consider it cracked. It's a fine fast browser, though.

It's a kind of "preview" version, which was released in haste for purpose of W-Zero3 sales promotion, maybe. The official version will be available for W-Zero3 users on Jan 15.

Thanks for the info.
I was just wondering if it was going to stop working after a preset period of time.

I can't seem to open the modified dll link. It asks for a password (which I don't have) and then I get a page cannot load error.
Does anyone know the password?
Thanks,
Craig

There is no password. Are you behind a proxy server by any chance? If so, your network administrator could have password-protected FTP.

This browser is awesome. So much faster than PIE.
Looks better too.

to be honest, it did look like a hack to me at first as well and I hesitated a bit about posting this on a forum.
But then again, Opera for desktop is free as well so may be they will release a full version later for free or something. I am sure with such a quality product, it would sell like hot cakes for a reasonable price.

WOW! Everyone spread the word on this one! This is a awesome web broweser. I my opinion, it's just what the Axim's been waiting for. yeah, it could be a bit faster, and there are some tweaks that need to be made, but overall: ***** (5 Stars.)

Connection closed by remote server
I have a Dell Axim X51v with Windows Mobile 5. I downloaded the .cab and .dll files from the links provided. From within Windows Mobile I installed Opera to my SD and then I replaced the .dll in the Opera folder on the SD with the modified .dll.
I can get Opera to launch and the buttons and menus are all functional, but, every site I go to, I receive the following error: "Connection closed by remote server."
I'm currently at work and I access the internet through the company's wireless LAN. All of my other wireless applications work fine. I'll try again at home where I have my own wireless access point, but, in the meantime, can anyone offer a solution?

#3: is there any way to change the layout of the top buttons, cus those take up a lot of realestate on my screen that i really need
