Hi,
On my Axim X51v I have Word/Excel Mobile and Pocket Word/Excel as native software. What are the differences between the two versions? Why are both included? Enquiring minds want to know! Thanks!

From what I've seen, you can add tables, attachments and bulleted/numbered lists.
I really like the Office Mobile package (Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, Powerpoint Mobile-finally), but glitches in WM5.0 overall forced me to roll back to WM2003SE. I'm still looking forward to the day when all of us X50v WM5 upgraders can get our hands on the ROM update.

Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, but I'm pretty certain my X51v does not have two versions of these programs. The shortcuts are named differently, depending on where you look, but the only executables are pword.exe and pxl.exe in the Windows folder.

Hi mntom,
I’d love to know how to get Pocket Word/Excel on WM5? The Word/Excel "Mobile" versions seems fine, but for printing on the PDA I use PrintPocketCE from FieldSoftware, which only prints the old type "Pocket" psw/pxl documents. It’s a real pain that you cannot "Save As" in the old "Pocket" format, well done Microsoft. ![]() Alternatively, anyone know of a piece of PDA software that will convert the "Mobile" documents to the old "Pocket" format?

Printing
I'm afraid I'm not going to be of much help. I never print from my PDA. Also, I've abandoned Word and have switched to the much more robust Textmaker from Softmaker(http://www.softmaker.com/english/).

The x50 copies pxl.exe, but for pWord.exe it says "Executable and resource files in ROM cannot be copied." Tried renaming pWord but it won’t let that happen either.
Copied pxl.exe and the two pxl dll files to the x51. First time it is run WM5 displays the unknown publisher warning . Unfortunately after accepting, the busy "pie" is displayed briefly, then nothing. The Pocket Excel files cannot be copied over the Excel Mobile files in the \Windows directory.Any ideas? It’s still a bit early in the day for me to come up with some "original thinking". ![]()

Trying to copy ppt.exe from the x51 displays the usual "Executable and resource files in ROM cannot be copied". In any case, I think it even less likely that a program designed for WM5 would work on an older OS like Pocket PC 2003.
