Windows Mobile 5 versions???

Ok so in the past there was Pocket PC, Pocket PC PHONE Editions, and MS Smartphone

Does the same still stand for Windows Mobile 5? Is there a PHONE or Smart PHONE Edition?

For example, the new 700w ... will that run the same software I have purchased for my AXIM?

Windows Mobile 5.0 was suppose to merge all those together but I guess Microsoft wanted a "full" merge to be done with Photon (next windows mobile) instead. So unfortunately, we still have those differences.

Right. So both are WM5, but the 700w will have the phone edition.

So, assuming I've read this correctly, if a phone has WM5 SmartPhone edition and has bluetooth, then I can load my GPS maps onto it and use my GPS with it, as iGuidance supports WM5? (I just had a look at the XDA iq and it looks pretty sweet!)

The phone edition strictly usese the DPad for navigation, which causes you to jump between ui components. The smartphone uses the stylus and seems tog be more compatiblee with WM5 apps.
