I'll give you reason FOR and AGAINST upgrading to WM5.0.
FOR upgrading:
1. New Office Package (Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, Powerpoint Mobile (FINALLY))
2. Customizable sounds and notifications.
3. Ability to add pictures to contacts.
4. Download Manager ( I like this)
5. Built-In GPS Drivers.
AGAINST upgrading:
1. Activesync 4.0 is a pain. (Bluetooth, Cable, IrDA)
2. Some filesys.exe runs your CPU to the max and makes the battery hot.
3. Slower responsiveness.
4. Can't see available bluetooth profiles.
5. Shuts out your device sometimes.
The reasons FOR, well for me the only one that perks my interest is the "Ability to add pictures to contacts".
Seems like I'll stay away from the upgrade for now.
Thanks Again :)

Hmm... I forgot that was possible. I hate sifting through all the input forms to find what I need, I was there was a way to select only the ones you mainly use.
Accessories: Eops Technology CF TV Card, Holux CF GPS Card, IBiz CF Pocket Radio Card, Pretec CF 56k Modem Card, ILO amplified portable speakers, AA Battery Charger, 1Gb SD Card, 256Mb CF Card, 6Gb Microdrive (on its way from Canada), Age of Empires SD Card
1. persistant storage
2. Longer battery life
3. Opera 8.5 works in full screen yah
4. better memory management ( less crashes turning wifi on/off )
5. less soft resets required in general ( maybe 1 every 3-4 days instead of 3/4 every day)
6. more & more support/apps for wm5.0
7. it's new :-) ( this could be fore and against :-) )
thats the main one I can think of.
against:
1. may lockup completly requiring hard reset (OK if you backup regularly)
2. slower than 2003se
3. more apps still available for 2003se rather than wm5.0
4. Bluetooth stack is M$ ( no HQ stereo headset support) - no biggie for me atm.
My problem is that although there is persistent storage, there is not a satisfactory solution for backing up this storage. I would rather deal with volotile storage that can be lost easily but also broght back easily before taking the plunge without a working back up solution. Neither the Dell utility, Sprite Beta, or Sunnysoft work.
My battery life was much shorter because the Auto setting did not work correctly even after doing all the tweaks listed on Aximsite including the ActiveSync fix. My PDA was constantly pegged at 624MHz. Returning to 2003SE felt like an extended battery after my problems with being locked into maximum performance dissappeared.
Memory was a farce. I am able to keep myself with 25MB of free RAM after all my installs. WM5 started me with 30MB. After installing Calligrapher, Wisbar, iLauncher, Pocket Breeze, Contact Breeze, Pocket Weather and Resco Today I was unable to start with any more than about 10MB. This isn't acceptable especially when my most common activities are internet and gaming.
I had to soft-reset more often. My PDA with 2003SE gets soft=reset once a day at 4:00 AM by Sprite. It's all in the background and I don't worry about it. Since Sprite did not behave dependable solution (beta) on WM5 this was not possible. Instead I had to reset during use and of course this reset takes over 3 minutes if you time it. Very embarassing when you whip out your PDA to get a name and number, find out it's locked and have to either wait half an eternity or look silly whilst you look for paper.
These are a alot of problems. THe funnything is I'm an early adopter. I love to hae the latest and the greatest 'just because'. IF WM5 was workable I would still be struggling; however, my PDA has to function. I use it for work and school and depend on it.
