Just as I thought, I don't need to customise my pda too much as the chances of it me doing hard reset/install operating system happen faster than I am able to enjoy the additional customisation.

What does it fix - A06? I mean what visible improvement can one see from it?

I would be careful about A06. I have installed it and was unable to hotsync. I am going back to the previous version.

Loss of sync with A06 has happened to me as well.

After weeks of 4-6 incidents/week with A04, I had two weeks of stability, but then foolishly upgraded to A06. Two soft resets (to solve the not-waking-to-any-button issue), one hard reset (to solve the long-standing CE/PPC/WM5 issue of alarms disappearing), and another soft reset occasioned by the battery going off over 10 minutes and getting very hot in my pocket (25% discharge of the extended 2200 mAh!) since it wouldn't respond to any button, coupled with no hot-syncing for a week, is just about to send me back to Palm. Two hours of Live "Chat" w/Dell reps in the Phillipines and India, along with 45 minutes of voice chat have not solved any of the issues.

Yes, I'm a former Palm user, and about a 99% chance of being a future one. This Axim sucks. Microsoft sucks. This unit is still in the alpha release stage. This should never have been inflicted upon the public. The only saving grace is that I contacted Dell in November before the 21 day return period expired, and arranged for an extension while we tried to work out these issues. A06 does not appear to have solved any of them, and the unit is considerably slower during some operations then before.

I now have a replacement unit and battery. On the next problem, it's all going back to Dell, and a Palm T|X will be its replacement.

Palm. They just work.

Thanks folks, for sharing your experiences. I will stay away from the A06 update.
