You want the ARM. If it states all then your still good to go.
Faith is not believing God can. It is knowing that He will.

Most .exe installers that you run on your PC automatically install the correct version for your device, unless the description states otherwise. When you install directly on you device using a .cab file, that is when you most need to be consious of the version you are using. X-scale and ARM are the correct file types for your X51V processor, but you also need to confirm that it is WM5 compatible.

ARM refers to the type of processor your device uses. It is based on a design by ARM Holdings.

ARM/MIPS/SH3 signify the processor that your operating system runs on. The X51v is an Intel XScale ARM processor.

There are very few devices (that I know of) that use MIPS or SH3 processors, but obviously there are some or no-one would be making sure their programs run on them.....

If it says either ARM or XScale then you are good to go, if software has a choice between those two then you'd prefer the XScale as it will be more optimised for your cpu.

ARM = Advanced RISC Machines (a company that licenses CPU designs I think)
RISC = Reduced Instruction Set Computer

Also if you ever see xscale, you would want to download that version over any other.

First choice is XScale. Second choice is ARM.

I know the old HP Journadas ran SH3, but most new Pocket PCs will run ARM.

ALL new PPCs will run ARM, there is no support for SH3 or MIPS since PPC2002 went to ARM only.

However - XScale apps could have optimized instructions for the XScale processor, which would make them more efficient then a more generic ARM compilation. Hence the reason why XScale is choice 1 and ARM is choice 2.
