x51v Battery drain even the unit is off @ A06 ROM
Hi guys,
Anyone experiencing a battery drain in their x51v even if the unit is off? I got this problem when I upgraded my rom to A06.

Hi nickyd8
It seems that the fake server solution from this site http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=112638 really works.
From the time I apply the fake server (1pm today) up to 10:30pm, my battery is still at 61% remaining.
Now, I'm charging it to its maximun bat life, then I will take it out from my cradle before going to going to bed, I will leave it overnight (Turn off mode).
CF card seems ok so far.

How long has it been since you used your x3? Maybe the battery lost too much charge and cannot be charged anymore. I think if Li-Ion batteries go below a certain point, they are unchargeable without a special charger.

yes! even with AO6, and fake server, still draining down to 60% overnight. What's with this x51v? I may go back to palm OS, almost no problems at all with Palm!

It seems like if you have Pocket Outlook set to automatically check your mail, it'll try to do so even if the unit is "off."
Note also that "off" isn't really "off." If you just press the power button and the screen goes black, that's not really off. To make your axim actually turn off, you have a choice of removing the battery, or going to the 'power button' tab of Power Settings, selecting 'full power off,' then holding down the power button until the screen goes black.
EDIT: If you physically remove the battery overnight, and it loses a charge, then the battery itself is either worn out or defective, and you get to experience the unparallelled delight that is Dell Technical Support.

If you have cradled the Axim whilst charging, check that you close Active sysc down on the Axim, using "magic Button" or Switcher Bar. After cradling this is left running and may be causing the problem.

After applying the FS hack. I still have my SPB and WP running in my axim before I turn it off.
Last night, after charging my x51v to its 100%, I turn off 3rd today plug-ins (weather panel 2, and SPB 3) tht I have and leave it overnight. Well, this morning I still got 99%. I don't know if Im dreaming but is true. :rolling:
Now, I downloaded a beta version of spb 3.1 R4 and install it. They have the following fixes:
*** WHAT`S NEW IN VERSION 3.1 beta 4 ***
1. New icons and icon selection dialog.
2. Icons update in the upgrade installtion.
3. Battery drain problem is fixed.
4. Today plugin performance increase.
5. Backlight issues fixed.
And for the record Im at 94% battery (8:36am) since 7:30am 1/26/2006. I will be testing my AXIM again with the following setup below. By the way I already done some stuffs with my axim thats why its already down from 98% to 94% battery life.
Todays Plugin's currently running application:
- WA2 Beta .20
- Owner's Info
- Weather Panel 2.51 Beta
- SPB 3.1 Beta 4
- Calendar (with PI as default)
RAM is @ 29.0MB
Hope I will have I good results! :approve:
I will try to update this @ noon.

Fake Server fix also appears to have fixed my clock from wandering 15 minutes fast overnight. Thanks for the tip!
