x51v wakes up for no apparent reason
I put my Axim in standby and just leave it on my desk, not connected to anything and with the wireless features disabled, then go off and do something else. I notice that every minute or so, it wakes up entirely of its own accord, shows my 'today' screen for less than a second, then immediately goes back to sleep.
Potentially relevant information: - x51v - Windows Mobile 5, A06 ROM - Dell's "Executive Keyboard" bluetooth driver - Oddessy client and SplashV removed from StartUp folder - ActiveSync disabled using the fake-exchange-server trick from this forum This doesn't really bother me that much, but I suspect it's to blame for the fact that my battery doesn't last terribly long, whereas my old x30 could go for nearly a week without a charge in identical conditions. If anybody can think of a reason it would be doing this, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks Theyranos

In StartUp I've got
- bttray - poutlook - SwitcherBar (I added this) - WirelessIcon The Today page has Date, User Info, Messaging, Tasks, and the Calendar enabled. I think I may have actually figured out what was causing it. I had pocket outlook set to check for mail every minute. I turned that off, and did a soft reset, and this morning when I turned on my Axim the battery was still at 100%. The question then becomes "Is it possible to make pocket outlook automatically check my mail if and only if I'm already connected to a wireless network?"

Have you applied the fake exchange server fix? If not, click on view my PDA to get the post that details what it fixes and how to apply it.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll be gone all day. Traffic lights that are set for 35 are also set for 70 |
