Help, How to use dialup with a CF Modem card

I just recieved my CF Compaq 56k Modem card in the mail today.

I plug it into my Axim x50v and it pick it up just find. It had me to configure it to my ISP with phone number and user name.

OK now for the dumb question.

How do I use it to dial on to the net?

For the life of me, I can't find any sort of connections icon to log in with it. I tried Modem Link and that didn't work. So I am at a lost.

Please help.

Modem card

When you install the modem card, it should recognize it and give you a message to hit settings to make a new connection.

From there, it's almost identical to setting one up on a desktop computer...

Well I figure it out. First with WM5 there is no dialup network icon. At least not where I could find one.

I went to WM5 manual that came with the cd and read up on it.

To connect to the web. All I needed to do was open Windows Email program and go to send and received. Then the unit started dailing to the web.

Over all it works fine. It is faster then my desktop modem on surfing and sending and receiving emails. The only thing that I notice was when it downloading a file it is real slow. Not sure why. But since I don't do that much with my Axim it not a problem. I mainly download with my desktop computer.

So over all I am pleased with this Compac 56 k Fax CF Modem. No drivers need. Just plug it and setup the ISP.

Take Care
Paul
