If you search around you'll find various tools & utilities which remove the icons in the task bar. Once they are all removed the bar goes away of its own accord.
Hope that helps.
ps: just wondering (as the bar removes itself) whether the bar or I get the 5 bucks? lol.
The bar will go away if you remove the icons? The bottom bar doesn't have any icons though. I 've wondered about this a while back but never find a solution.
Here is a thought. I currently have WA2 installed and thinking about using the registery to remove the softbuttons and creat a WA2 skin with a transparent bottom bar. Unfortunately I don't know how to create WA2 skins.
Some downside about this, even with the transparent bar, you'll still see the system tray and it might look weird having it hover in the middle of the screen. (with nothing below it) Unless some one knows how to either remove the system tray or relocate it's location.
The X51, using Windows Mobile 5, has a 'soft key' bar at the bottom of every screen, which currently cannot be disabled or removed as part of the OS. Dashboard 5's making some progress towards doing things with this area the last time I looked, but I don't know if it will let you remove it.
You'll have to live with it for now - as for me, I've bound two hardware keys that I don't normally use for one-handed navigation using the softkeys. :D
