Copy/paste into password fields

I've noticed that anytime I am presented with a password field it never lets me paste into it. I can paste into other fields but not passwords. This is especially annoying when entering a long WEP key. Is there any way to alter that behavior so I can use the paste into those fields?

Copy the password. Open the application, bring up the keyboard, click the field on the screen, click ctrl-v on the keyboard. Works for me :)

The benefit of Win Mobile 5's implementation is that ALL the keyboard shortcuts worked with ANY Windows applications;
Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V, Ctrl + Z.

hmmmm...
Well I took that advice as being true and went about my merry way until I recently tried that trick.
It doesn't work. Ctrl-V does NOT paste into a PASSWORD field. It will paste into a regular text field just fine but will not paste into a password field. Trying to enter a 128 hex WEP key for a wireless network is a major PITA. There has got to be some way to disable this "security feature" (if that is what this is.) Anybody know of a registry hack or program that gets around this stupid limitation? I just want to be able to paste into password fields.

It has to do with security. Its good at times, but when your trying to put a long password in, its just annoying. The only advice i have is to memorize the password, or else write it down somewhere, becuase password boxes can be really stubborn.

Well when the WEP key looks like this:

00A3E553E84635E0BE85AEE610322F8CFB87AC4673E03EAA5B 66337BE6B8C466

It isn't very easy to memorize it.

I agree, there has to be a registry entry to control this or something.

Invest in TapText. Good for password, WEP keys, signatures...
