Screen brightness contol

The other day I saw a PDA running 2003 PPC and noticed that the today screen had a battery and memory level indicator and a screen brightness control right on the desktop. Apparently that feature has not been carried over to WM 5(?). I would love to have a brightness control that did not require drilling down to system settings to get to. Anyone have any suggestions on a utility to put it back on the desktop?

This was probably a today screen plugin. Many of them have these featuers and can be downloaded, even for the x51.

Here's a freeware: http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=634

The one you probably saw was the free version of BatterPack that comes with the Axim - BatteryPack Lite: http://www.omegaone.com/axim/

You can find the installation program on the CD that came with the x51. It has a battery meter and storage meter as well as a slider on the today screen to change the backlighting.
