New internet explorer?

Never used my Ax for much net surfing until last night. I just installed my first wireless network, and I discovered two rather annoying things:

1) The standard battery sucks.

2) Internet Explorer REALLY sucks!

Well I'll not be buying a new battery soon because my wife will kill me.

So what I really need help in finding is a freeware (see above warning about wife) web surfing program.

Any advice ? (other than knocking off the wife)

Thank you.

The Opera 8.5 for is a beta version. It says it is trial for 45 days. It will sold after it comes out of beta and I don't know how much it will cost.

Mozilla's version is minimo and it too, is beta.

The other products are all commercial ware (the full products are a bit the expensive side as ppc software goes) but are still better than PIE. There are also plug ins/add ons to PIE that make it better.

Search is your friend and you will find several threads discussing the options.

Those betas are more secure and stable than internet explorer right now
they also have more features
Thunderhawk and the rest aren't half as good
sometimes a beta is worth it

I just tried Minimo (I have X51 and Mobile 5.0) and found it to be VERY buggy and unstable. Tried to hold down the stylus to paste somethng in a field and that crashes the program. Also had the program lock up a lot simply surfing. If they get the bugs fixed it looks really nice but at the moment it is a pain to use.

opera is written by people who do it as their day job... it's not about greed, the numbers don't let them give it away and pay the bills

minimo is written in sspare time... so it's a different situation.

Thanks all for the input.

I'm trying to load Minimo now, but don't have access to my pc, and I can't get the Cab file to download. When I click on the link a new IE page opens with all the coding for the program on it.

Thanks again.

Same here. I'm using my laptop and my Axim refuses to sync via bluetooth with the laptop. When I go to minimo with my Axim, it just runs a script.

Thanks muchly.

I dunno, while i don't love Pocket IE, I've yet to find a better alternative. I find all the others slow to load, slow to load pages, and honestly, PIE renders the pages way nicer. Maybe I'm just used to it, but I'd be happy to be convinced (tell me why you like the other programs better).
