Soft reset damage?

I just bought an Axim X51v. I am wondering if doing a soft reset can damage the OS install like doing a reset eventually corrupts a windows XP installation. Does anyone know?

Shouldn't hurt a thing.A soft reset is just like turning your computor off and on.Soft resets regain your memory and actually help your Axim.

The OS on a PPC is in ROM (Read Only Memory), which, unless the PDA has some sort of hardware damage or had a failed ROM update, should never become corrupted. I suppose the user registry hives could get corrupted, but extremely unlikely without a failed install of software or by some overt registry tweaking.

Soft reset is your friend on a PPC!

I am curious what you consider a soft reset of Windows XP to be, though.

Yeah, that is a new one on me too. I guess they mean the "three finger salute" but even that doesn't eventually corrupt a WinXP installation.

Does it leave temp files around when doing a soft reset? On Windows XP I was talking about having a toddler pressing the reset button on the front of the desktop PC. That is a bad thing. My PC now sits on a filing cabinet; out of reach.
Thanks,

I kick my reset button all the time
The fact that it is half the face of my computer doesn't help
maybe I should try puttin git up?
I also reset my POcket PC using SPb Pocket Plus and safe restart does that do anything to your pocket Pc?

sure, the same thing is possible. the old zero file legenth thing. Its less likley since there is no hard drive. with open files and long times required to close them all. On pda's everything is in ram. Soft reset will clear memory but not fix files that are more perminant. Only a hard rest will fix that.
