"Working" Widcomm BT stack with WM5.0?

Check this out. Has anyone been brave enough to try what this guy did?

Me again, OUBeaver :)

I tried the cambridge radio one. It messed up my sound (although I think there is a registry tweak to fix that) but I didn't really gain any functionality. An Obex file transfer profile did show up when I paired my v3, but it didn't seem to effect the way the partnership worked. IE - I still had to make the phone discoverable in order to send files from the Axim to the v3.

I haven't tried the widcomm thing because I've read here that it is very buggy and can cause some serious damage if not done properly. It is also difficult to uninstall... so I haven't mustered up the courage to try it yet, and I probably won't.

Hey Forge42. Yeah, I don't think I have the courage to attempt the Widcomm thing. It does seem like a bit much and the odds are against me. Plus I've only had my Ax and V3 since x-mas and I'm not quite ready to screw them up.

I just can't wait until the headset thing works, SMS, and BT dialing. Life will be good then. And I hate to admit it sometimes but I have faith that Dell will eventually come through. I don't have any trouble at all sending AND receiving between my Axim, V3, and my PC. Resco Explorer was a great help there.

Later.

I tried this one: http://buzzdev.net/index.php?option=...=6376&catid=26

But when I tried to turn on the bluetooth and after a soft reset it would give me the error "insufficient driver memory", and I tried it after a hard reset and after getting rid of everything I could that runs in the background so I had 29.81mb's free of RAM. I think it might work on axim's with the RAM upgrade, to 128mb. Or maybe there still was something I could of tried, but I gave up.

Please let me know anyone who gets it to work.
