Share Files w/ Windows PC

I have a dilemma.

Basically I want to be able to set up an Ad-hoc wireless network between my windows laptop and x51v so I can share files between them while I'm on the go. I realise I need a network share, and that's easy to set up on a windows computer but how do I access that share from my pda?

Do I need specialised software like Resco Explorer, or are there free alternatives out there which can map network drives?

Thanks in advance

Try Total commander? I don't know if it can do this, but it's free and very stable.

You can do it with the file manager that comes on the AXim. Use the Menu -> Open Path in open path type \\computername\sharename the backslashes are neccessary but use your real names. Using this method I could copy and past files.

It is freeware. It does work. I'm using it right now. Haven't had any problems with it.

there's a tutorial, lost the link, basically if you are having problems, you want to check and make sure your connection is set to "work"...that clears up a lot of stuff.

If you just want to view media files, I am now able to open them directly from TCPMP player. I can see the files, but not launch them, using the regular file manager. Total commander allows launch. You still do need to know your computer name and enter with "\\"
