Please help me. I'm starting to think that I'm dumb as a stump (I am close but my IQ is a couple of points higher). I am trying to install the .NET Compact Framework 2.0 so I can install Hichhicker and/or WiFiFoFum2. I looked over the forum http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...ht=install+net but it didn't really help. I installed 2.0 but it didn't take on my x51v (AO1). Windows XP made me install another program prior to installing the NET Compact Framework 2. I then installed Hitchhicker 0.4 Beta 1. It didn't install on my Ax either. Same problem with the WiFiFoFum2. When I go to my Add/Remove programs within Windows XP, it shows Hitchhicker and WiFiFoFum but I can't get them to go into the Ax.
Please help! And please be detailed since I have no idea where I've gone wrong. Thanks.
Incidently, I am trying to do this because the WLAN Utility on the x51v is EXTREMELY slow and doesn't seem to connect all the time. I'd be open to hearing suggestions about it too! Thanks for your help.

you have to install .NET CF on your PC first. After that you can run it from your PC and will be able to install it (must be connected with activesync) on your Pocket PC.
Are you properly connected with activesync when trying to install wififofum? If you are having problems, you can always install from the .CAB file.

You don't have to run it. When you install it, its registered. It's similar to run-time library. The applications that depend on it will know where to find it.

If you were able to connect before, & it's getting slower day after day, then you should clean up some cache files using MemMaid. There are 3 Index.dat files that "grow" eventhough you delete you cokies & temp. internet files.
If you're familiar with editing your Registry, edit your cache files. Otherwise, use MemMaid ... clean up unwanted files.
You can search for MemMaid on this site ... increase connection sreed, page load faster, etc.
If I install .NET 2.0 on my PC, will it automatically install on my PPC? How can I tell if I have it on my PPC?

I am having the same problems. I installed the Hitchhiker and the Net 2.0 CF. I couldn't get into Hitchhiker. I uninstalled it and re-installed it atleast twice. I feel your pain.
There's also a program in the Windows directory (on your Dell) called cgacutil.exe. Run that an it will tell you what version(s) of the .NET Compact Framework you have installed.
I know this is an old post for the guy having all the trouble with Hitchhiker. But I just want too no where I can get a copy of Hitchhiker 0.4 beta1 as all the links are dead and have been since 2005 or 2006. But if you turn me onto something like or better i'll take a look and see, now I did download ministumbler would not work in my Axim x50 made by Dell I've own this device for 3 0r 5 years I purchased it new from dell I used it for work now I'm retired and have more time on hands now and want do more with my PDA AXIM X50 any help would be greatful thank you... Richard
PS if I could get a copy of Hitchhiker from someone if its still available again I've tryed all the links to it just maybe some body may have zipped any way thanks much

Has any one found a way to get MiniStumbler to work on an Axim X50 with the standard drivers that come with it from the Dell factory? See the list below. :exc:
