X51V and A06. HowTo

I have many questions about the software. Please be patient :)

One of the most important question for me is about new ROM. Now my axim uses A01 (08250500). I would like to upgrade it to A06... Are there any tips how to do it ? Are there any posibility to damage my PDA?

Here is the URL for the English version of A06.

I have been on A06 for two months and had no trouble. The download instructions are pretty clear, just be sure to have your AC adapter plugged into the cradle before you start.

Go ahead and upgrade, I have had AO6 for about 2 months and it is great. Much more stable and no more soft (or hard) resets. Make sure you do a backup of your data first and just follow the directions. I also did a hard reset before I started, I don't think it is necessary but it certainly won't do any harm and means there is no spurious data hanging around. I update everything I can, it is probably simplistic but I believe newer is better.

Thanks for link. I have almost no problems.
BUT... I was really shocked when I tried to connect to the Internet via BT... I wanted to create Network Access but there was nothing like that in axim. (I had no problems with asus 620bt - worked very fine:rolling: ) I am confuced... Maybe this would be fixed by A06?

Sure, you can connect to internet at a hotspot, by Wi-Fi Router, or using a Bluetooth phone as a modem dialing your ISP, or a Bluetooth phone and a data plan to get almost broadband speed. Whatever you do, be certain to do the "active sync fake server trick" posted in this forum. It tames the Axim and makes it stable and usable.

Thanks for answer, but I want to connect via BT only to my PC (i do not have WiFi adapter in my PC:( ). When I am using axim - I just siply create a network access (look attacchment), but there is nothing like that in axim ("new device" doesn't find my axim :( ). It just offers PIM synchronization and nothing more :(

P.S. When I use mobile phone - everything is OK. I just connect and have the entrance to the internet;)
