Alternating fading blue line

Okay, this is a weird problem. When I first got my x51v, I did not notice this problem, but it's appeared in the past week or so. I'm not sure what I did, but the problem is that on some screens, instead of a smooth background, I get a line of blue every other line down the screen. This line fades as it goes from right to left.

Screens such as my Contacts list - if the contact is highlighted, the entire background is blue as it's supposed to. But all other contacts will have this alternating blue, fading to the left line. Sorry I can't post a pic, but something like this:

-----------============= (blue line, gets darker from left to right)
(normal white background)
-----------============= (blue line, gets darker from left to right)
(normal white background)
-----------============= (blue line, gets darker from left to right)

Anyone have any idea how to change it back? This alternating and fading blue line in the background also appears in Notes. The color of this alternating blue line on the right is quite dark and makes reading the list difficult.

Soft resets do not fix the problem.

Call Dell and get a replacement. I think something is wrong with the screen.

No, there's nothing wrong with the screen itself. It's software related - something I installed may be causing this - again it only occurs on some screens - mainly in Notes and Contacts when you're viewing the list of contacts or list of notes. Once you are inside the note or contact, the screen is fine. And all other programs are fine.

I just did a hard reset and the Note and Contact listing screen was normal - shows a smooth white to light blue background from left to right. Once I restored from my backup, the screen for Notes and Contacts was back to the alternating white/dark blue that fades from right to left.

Edit: This alternating background also appears when viewing Calendar under the Day view, as well as the listing of files for PhatPad as well. Other programs work fine.

I don't think it's anything to do with software you've installed. I've had exactly the same problem, and I've not installed anything yet. I also found a hard reset was the only way to cure the problem.

My screen also now shows the white-to-pale blue effect you describe. I think this may have something to do with the illumination of the screen - possibly?

I cured the issue on my x51v by simply changing the theme.

I don't know what your problem is but if someone made software to do that I bet people would buy it.

SKTools is able to change the gradient listview background in the " System Tweaks " > " Colors ".

Here some screenshots from the german board.

@CharlyV

Nice find - that's exactly what the screen looks like - except it's a darker blue. But it is that interlaced look. I'm guessing Sktools accomplishes this by changing a registry value.

Anyone with Sktools able to track down which registry entry? Just curious...

Just an update, I've found that I can reproduce the problem when applying certain themes. It goes away when I change to another theme or remove the theme itself.

Any tools out there to dump and examine and compare the Axim's registry? I'd like to see if it's a registry value that gets changed.
