Welcome to the forum. We don't have windows updates that are like the desktop version. That would be simply nice. When we do updates they are Rom updates and they are deliberate and difficult. Stay in touch with Aximsite and you'll know what is the current rom version and you'll always get good help and instructions.

Tim, it's a good idea to update your profile or your MyPDA area to include your model and operating system (I'm assuming you have an X51 series with WM5). That way, the experts can help you better/faster. There are some issues with WM5 having been pushed to market before the product was mature, but the latest ROM and the "fake server" trick seem to fix a lot of problems. Search the forums with specific questions.
Good luck! I'm glad I'm still with WM2003SE, still the best PPC operating system.

You won't find much in the way of security updates, firewalls or antivirus for pda's. It just isn't a problem yet. Most people aren't logged into the internet directly so there is protection by the NAT of the wifi router and usualy they aren't connected for long enough to get hacked. Can't say I know about the bug you speak of though. And so far there are no known virus's running around in the wild. Only two possible virus' that i have heard of bu they haven't really gotten out. Even if you got a virus, a simple hard reset and it is gone.

Pocket pcs really have no viruses. And since, they have little space on them, montly updates would eventually fill up the main memory. I think ms cares less about its mobile os, than its desktop os. There are many more ms pcs than pocket pcs.
