So I have downloaded the ARM build of pocketsnes, unzipped the file, double clicked icon and I receive this error message: "...not a valid win32 application". How do I install this program to my Axim x51v? I have searched these boards endlessly but could not find the information I needed. Any help? Thx.

You should be able to transfer the .cab over to your PPC and install it that way via activesync in explorer.
I had the same problem. I rebooted the the PC, soft reset the Axim and loaded it. It works great now.

Just remember whenever you see a file for your axim that ends in .cab it has to be moved to the pocket pc. Windows will just try to open it up in a zip program and this ruins it.

This particluar file is a standalone exe for the PPC.
Just put the .exe on a CF card, or whatever. I made a new folder in my Programs file on the device, and copied the .exe over.
Then I made my shortcut on Wisbar Advance Desktop. and done!! No installation needed. :approve:
Remember if you've got x51v to use there settings.
Turn OFF Auto Frameskip
Set Frame Skip to 1
Turn on Sync audio (it doesnt work without it)
um hi there
im having problems with pocketSNES too. It runs but as soon as try loading a rom it just comes up with a splash screen. and then when i touch the lower portion of the screen it just comes up with internet explorer trying to load the pocketsnes.com website.
every now and then it throws in a qwes.exe error but does not close the program.
i got excited when the above post mentioned changes for an x51v like mine but they didnt do anything.
hope someone can help.
cheers
Hey Merilin, thx for the advice. I got the programs to my SD card and am able to load pocketsnes and change setting but unfortunately I cannot load any ROMs. I have the ROMs stored in a folder name ROMs on the SD card. I have unzipped them so that all that is there is the .smc file. Problem is when I go to load one when I select the ROM is closes down pocketsnes and brings me back to my filetree where i have to restart the program. Any ideas? Thx. Rue.

Well, well, well. I just re-checked all of the settings and I suppose I must have had one wrong because now the games are working (f-zero, mariokart, contra III) although some, like Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger, are too slow to use. Any luck with getting these ROM's to work? Also I am looking to get some NES games on there as well. Are there any NES emulators out there for thhe PPC? I don't need ROM sites (cause I know that is against the rules) but would like to know about software. Thx. Rue.

Well...third post in a row. I HAD pocketsnes working but now I am getting the same problem as before. I open the prog. and when I attempt to load a ROM it simply closes down the program. It WAS working before and I have checked the setting to make sure they are the same and they are. Any idea?
