Skyscape works great on my Axim x51v. It's fully VGA aware. No problems whatsoever - using it on a daily basis.
Only bad thing is if you have a lot of books, all the icons are the same. I use other icons of books for my iLauncher icons.

Skyscape caused many headaches...
I use my PDA on a regular basis in my EM practice. Last year, I remember trying to load a program that required Skyscape and had nothing but problems. Dell tech support had me hard reset my X50 and do several fixes to my desktop to get rid of it. You may want to consider using medical applications that do not use Skyscape.

Not sure what your problems were, but I find Skyscape books to be very well laid out compared to other medical books.
Not sure why you went to Dell to fix a software problem with a third-party vendor - probably should have asked Skyscape directly. Better yet, I'd avoid all tech support (especially Dell) and get advice from fellow users from forums like this one!
Is your X50 with WM2003 or WM5 upgraded?
Again, I'm using WM5 (A06) on an x51v with books updated from Dec. 2005 through this month - all working without any problems whatsoever.

I'm a nursing student and have a x51v. Skyscape works perfect when installed to internal memory, but you will get lockups now and then if you install them to the card. I was able to reduce the lockups by putting the data on the card and the reader in internal memory. It is VGA aware and the text looks beautiful on my x51v but the program does run alot slower than its Palm counterpart since the WM5 version is a bad port. In conclusion = Skyscape programs work flawless as long as you put the programs entirely in internal memory.

What about an x50v upgraded to WM5? I am an RN that uses ePocrates Essentials, Pepid CRC, plus Med Wizards and some Skyskape programs all installed on a 6gb Microdrive. I am hesitant to upgrade my Axim x50v to WM5 due to the horror stories that I have read about here. I use my PDA daily, it holds my schedule-my life! I would be in a pickle to lose it for any length of time. So I wait! my other question is whether to get a 2nd Axim an x51 and use that for WM5 and keep the WM2003SE intact ? :rolling:

As others have posted, most Skyscape titles work fine in WM5. There were some problems early on, but they've worked to address these. I'm supporting a school of nursing students and faculty using Skyscape on Axims and iPAQs.
Here's Skyscape's own statement regardind WM5:

And if you're concerned about Skyscape working, download Archimedes, which is free, and give it a try.

@JessieLC
If things are working well right now, I'd just stick with WM2003SE.
@yon325
The problem with installing any software to an SD/CF card is if the PDA has problems intermittently losing the card, the program may not function well. I have A06 and changed Activesync to manual synching ('fake server' trick), and have half my Skyscape books installed to my SD. I have had zero problems running those programs.

Skyscape in WM5
I am a nurse and I upgraded from PPC 2002 to WM5. I am currently using Archimedes, ARTbeat, HPND5 (Stedmans Healthcare Professionals/Nursing Dictionary), MedAlert, MobileDDX, all from Skyscape. I have had no trouble with these programs running on WM5. I hope that this helps.
