Backup Of Clean Axim x51v Machine.

Hello!
Does anybody have a backup of the clean (factory settings) Axim x51v?
I demaged my registry settings and some programs don't work for me.

Thank you very much.

Albert.

If you do a hard reset it will put it back to the factory default.... Just like new

Yup...I concur. Doing a hard reset will restore your Axim back to its original settings. To perform a hard reset you pressng the power button and the soft reset button (on the back of the Axim) at the same time, holding for a second.
That will definitely do the trick.
Hands off!!! Get your own Axim!

And then do not forget to press contacts (or calendar) button. There is a question in the screen if You really want to hard reset your device

Thank you all for a quick reply.

May be i am wrong, but as far as i know in Axim x51 with WM5 hard reset doesn't return the devices to the factory setting. And ROM upgrade/downgrade too.

the hard reset will set your x51 back to the factory settings. It just doesn't do a hard reset anymore when you remove the battery which is the best part of WM5. A hard reset also will not delete anything from your cf/sd cards. so do the hard reset and start over but be prepared to reload everything even if it is on one of your cards because while it doesn't delete anything on the card, it does put your registry back to new so none of the programs will work anymore.

Thank you very much.

Albert.
I have the same problem: after Hard Resets some wrong recordings (strings, keys, ...,?) problems have remained.
Probably it's problem of Win_CE5 or maybe of Axim x51, but unfortunately it's a fact. [ Often it is a result of installation of programs not designed for WinCE5 environment ?! ].

1. I recommend to everyone buying Axim x51v first of all to execute the Data Backup to do the full system backup, and in addition backup the Registry (for example by PHM RegEdit)/
It is NECESSARY to make additional copies of these files and to keep them in a separate place (your PC, CD-disk, ...)

2. I'd be very grateful to somebody who has and may pass to me the copy of "clean" backups for Axim x51v. [ Any ROM version are suits ]
