Why can't I turn off the backup of data on my Axim x51v? When I select data backup, if I try to select "Backup PIM database only" it forgets once I get out. My hope is that turning off this incessant writing to RAM or ROM is why this thing is so slow.

I have a friend who owns an earlier model that is not running WM5 and it is SO much faster. Is it possible to run his version of Windows CE?

This is the slowed PDA I've ever seen and I'm incredibly disappointed that I bought this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My hope is that I have an old version of something. I have no idea how to tell what version of the OS it is running.
