What I find (found) most annoying about this message is that if you do click Settings, it brings up a load of crap about setting up a modem connection etc, which is nothing to do with the wireless problem!
First check that your wireless router is transmitting in either B only or B+G mode. If it's set to G only, the Axim doesn't stand a chance. For safe wireless operation, your router should be using WEP or WPA-PSK encryption, hidden SSID, and perhaps even MAC ID filtering too. Is it? If so, the Axim will need to know some extra details...
* To overcome the hidden SSID, you'll need to tell the Axim the name of the network.
* For WPA-PSK, you'll also need to tell the Axim the encyption key that's entered on your router.
* For MAC-ID filtering, you'll need to tell the router to allow your Axim's MAC-ID to connect. Routers normally show what devices are in the vicinity and then let you choose the ones to allow.
I have all three security measures enabled on my Netgear DG834G, and the Axim connects fine all round the house.
