Adobe Reader won't install

Anyone having problems tying to install Reader to their 51V. I cannot get it to install. Was quite suprised when I tried to install MS Reader and was told it was from an unknown publisher am I sure I want to install. Hello, it's from microsoft!! Is the X51V a buggy device? did not seem to have all these issues with my X5. Activesync issues etc. etc.

Thanks for any help/insight you can provide.

Your title say Adobe Reader but you've MS Reader in the post.

Adobe Reader 2.0 works fine with WM 5.0.

You'll get an installation "error" notification when installing non-WM 5.0 compatible softwares. If it runs on WM 2003, it's safe to accept it (Yes). There is a thread onsite with a lists of WM 5.0 compatible softwares.

My Ax has Mobil 5 installed, thats why I posted it in this thread. I am trying to install Adobe reader 2.0 for pocket PC. It fails and dosen't install, when I get home will try copying cab file directly as suggested. Microsoft reader fails on install, but winds up installed anyway.

I cannot install pocket streets and trips either if fails and dosen't install. Should I just copy the cab file to my ax as well. This is getting pretty frustrating. The other anoying problem I am having is sometimes when I press the start button it wont turn on and have to do a soft reset. I don't get it for almost $500 it should work better then it does.

Thanks for listening to my rambling....

OK, so I realised I had downlaoded and installed Acrobat Reader 1.0 by accident.
Uninstalled Reader 1.0 from my X51v and it uninstalls perfectly.

Now when I run the Acrobat Reader 2 installer, it says Reader 1.0 is already installed. Aggghhhh! It's not, IT'S GONE!!!

Any idea why the Reader 2 installer thinks Reader 1.0 is installed? Is there a fix?

Thanks in advance - this is driving me mad (typical Adobe scenario I must say!).

Just click on the link included in dontbugme's reply. If I'm reading the post correctly, the answer is:

Simply delete the Adobe Reader User Guide.pdf in your "My Documents" folder and the installation will complete successfully!

(found in Post #35 of the linked thread)
