ever since I've installed wm5 on my X50 my CF card doesn't always show up. it seems the only way I can see it is to take it out and do a hard restart EVERY TIME. is there anythign I can do to make it work automatically (just like it used to) without having to do this? It wasn't in the ppc when I installed wm5, and i used it yesterday so I know it's not deleted or anything.
anyone know what's wrong with it or having the same troubles?

You are not alone. I had my Axim and my CF card replaced because of this issue - NO RESULT. So I decided to try some stuff....and I found a solution (this is the part where you cheer and maybe even start crying a little). Anyway....The SD/CF card disappearing act (I only had the problem with the CF card) comes from ActiveSync. In WM5, ActiveSync has a little schedule it runs on, syncing every so many hours. What you need to do is hook your Axim in the cradle and then open AcitveSync on the computer > click Schedule(it is a big button) > Select 'Manually' for both peak and Off-peak times. Once you have done that you should be good to go!

crap, i see the schedule button, but it's fadded, I can't use it

ok so i figured out how to make the schedule useable and marked both things on manual - still nothing

Yeah. This is a common WM5 Axim problem. The solutions worked for some. and worked for me also! See this thread
