also if anyone has a suggestion for an open program switcher (handy switcher is great but costs money) i would appreciate it. switcher bar isnt exactly the best program switcher. I wish windows would just make a regular start bar like in windows handheld PC 2003. or was it 2000.

Dav, it may give a link to power settings but it doesn't give a power meter on the front screen as requested, and doesn't have a memory meter.
A “Switcher Bar” application is included which appears on the top tool bar, and includes an application closer, task switcher, brightness link, and battery life icon.

Those are different from my switcher bar menu. I wonder if we're talking different OS versions? I'm using 2003se

Behave will ya, that quote is from the Dell site! I know perfectly well what you are all talkin' about; little icons type things literally on the Today screen that without you doing anything show at all times your position regarding power, battery and whatever; I know and am aware that Switcher has to be opened after which you have to press test to take you to those things, but Ilya didn't make it clear what he was after in the first place!
