Slow startup

Hi,

I must be missing something incredibly basic here. Almost none of the posts seem to deal with my most basic issue moving from 2003 to WM5.

The awful performance of turning my X50v on!

In 2003, when I turn the Axim on to quickly look up a phone number, it takes about half a second to turn on and go to my address book.

In WM5 it takes somethoing like 30 seconds from the time I turn it on till the Axim responds to any kind of user input.

Is no one else experiencing this???

Thanks,
Michael

mine takes a few seconds , approx 10, but not 30. maybe something on the today page is slowing it down. try disableing everything on the today page and see if it is faster then put them back one at a time until you find it. Also, do you see the little icon for Odyssey in the toolbar at the bottom? it looks like a little sailing ship. If you see that then it is your problem. Open it and exit from it, not kill it, and it should help a whole lot.

For me, it takes approximately 15 seconds. However after doing your recommendation, i notice a slight improvement in the speeds. Thank you for that.
