X51v: Limit WiFi to my Network

Hello!

I have a X51v and a Wireless Network. In my area there are several open wlans, and after turning the Axim on, it often connects to these networks instead of mine. How can I (temporarely) lock it to my wlan?

with best regards

there should be an option to connect only to prefered AP's, ifnot you may need a wifi connection manager like pocketwinc, just make sure your prefered AP list ONLY has your AP in it

Does the X51 series come with odyssey client? If so, you can set up your network and select it specifically:
Commands,
Scan,
select your network,
Ok,
and enter your setup information. If you don't have encryption, be sure you select none for Encryption method.

On the main Odyssey screen, chech the box next to Connect to: and select your network from the drop-down list.

The 'connect only to preferred networks' is no longer an option in WM5. However, once you've created an association with a network, the PPC will connect to it whenever it is available. If you mistakenly connected to a different network in your neighborhood, you can remove it from the list. While WiFi is active, go Start, Settings, Connections (tab), Network Cards and hold the stylus on any networks you do not want to use and select Remove Settings.

I imagine the Odyssey solution that PocketBrain posted will also work but I have never found it necessary (or desirable) to use Odyssey. It's really only useful for corporate networks running Enterprise-Level Security.
