Upgrade

Hi all, I'm a bit of a PDA newbie.

I bought a Axim X3i of ebay a while ago but never really played with it. I find that it is great in every way apart from the user UN-friendly plug at the bottom which has the fiddly little pins, of which i managed to bend and break 2 of them off.
I would like to upgrade it to the latest operating system, so can anyone help me with this please. I'm not sure what os i have on at the moment, how do i find out? And also, what are the pitfallsor benefits of upgrading, if any.

Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade to the latest Operating System available (WM5) as the X3i will only suppport WM2003. However, you can make sure you have the latest ROM version by going to the Drivers and Downloads section of the Dell website.

the only option to get a working WM5 is to upgrade your device to an X51 series. The upgrade for the X50 series is still not working right.

Go to Start - Settings - System tab - System Information to look at your ROM version. It's been a long time since I've had the X3i so I can't recall the differences between the ROM versions. You can try doing a search about it here though. Also, if you decide to upgrade, make sure you backup your old ROM (you will be prompted during the upgrade process) so you can always downgrade if you don't like it.
