I guess with typos it is good that it isn't remembering the words. Have you tried the dictionary editor posted in this thread?

On WM5 x51v the dictionary editor is working fine for me.

This worked for me, I saved the cab file to my Axim (X51V, with wm5), then ran it, opening, editing then resaving my "main" dictionary. It didn't seem to work, then I thought to try a soft reset (duh! ) and suddenly all my changes/corrections appeared (or disappeared as the case may by :) )
