Hi, if I input 'pe' then 'peRCUSSION' is suggested as the word I'm trying to type... as I'm never going to want to put that word like that (and have no idea how it ended up like that), I want to edit wherever the autocomplete words are stored and fix the word to 'percussion'. Does anyone know where this is?
Also, does anyone recommend a good text editor (not word processor) for WM5? Preferably free!
You can find the file that stores those words by going to:
1.Windows
2. Long tap dyncompdict (dynamic completion dictionary)
3. Select 'open with...' and then open it with Word Mobile and edit the words in there to your hearts content :)
That file on my x3i contains about 10 words and is only 154 bytes long. (!?)
But my editor suggest many, many more.
There must be a larger file somewhere ?
As far as I understand this was not something available with Windows Mobile 2003. Does this still hold true? This file does not seem to exist on my X50v with 2003SE

In order to get the 'open with...' option you need a third party file explorer - I use Resco File Explorer. If you don't want to buy it you can demo it to accomplish what I described.
Gigi,
Are you sure? I just did a soft reset and I have all my crazy biology words in there that I typed over the last semester...(how often are you typing or using the word completion? Maybe that has something to do with it).
Additionally - I know there is another file that has words for word completion therein, I just couldn't find it again (maybe I dreamt about it ;)

Yes, I'm quite sure. I use MSN a lot and thank goodness, it doesn't remember my typos. I also just tried it now on a WORD document and a soft reset cleared it. (It remembered the word "aphasia" after just one instance of it.)
Long tap dyncompdict ?
I did this on my X51 and do not get the option to open the file with word. I have now spent 3 hours trying every way of opening the file to edit the dictonary...can someone help ?
