Aximsiteactivesyncicon Unable to obtain server-assigened IP...

I keep getting this error message when I sync with X51.

"Pocket PC Networking"
"Unable to obtain a server-assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network settings."

It looks like it syncs fine and all, but that's an anoying message and I always have to close it out.

You have a very rare issue.

The solution is in the second post. Check the post at Aximusers.com - PPC Networking Error.

Icon14 Wow

Nice work!

What's strange is that it seems to have just crept up into this world. I think I might have had it start arround the same time as that poster. I wonder if there were previous cases or it just started recently. If so, what triggered it all of the sudden.

So far, including yours, there are 6 known cases. Yours probably the 1st two. There's another case at Dell's forum. It's fixed now, I responded.

The registry configuration must have changed either by the user (accidently) or by another software resulting in ActiveSync triggering the error message. Cheers.

I'm glad there is a solution. I have had this problem for some time now and have not had the time to fix it.

Thank you, thank you. I have had this annoyance for about a month. Wish I knew when it crept in but the fix above in the second post worked. My hats off.

I keep gettting the same message and am wondering what it is also. It happens when I am synching to my work computer which is on a MS Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server based network. We are using active directory to manage users and logins.
The problem seems more anoying than harmful, but I would love to stop it.
